Bursaries

Bursaries

Since the Motsepe Foundation believes that Education is a key catalyst to a brighter tomorrow for South Africa’s youth, we have allocated approximately 1500 Bursaries over the past 4 years to students studying at tertiary institutions throughout South Africa. A further 350 bursaries have been committed for the 2018 academic year. Motsepe Foundation bursaries are awarded to students studying in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects and the Arts fields, and these bursaries give students the opportunity to study at the most [prestigious universities in the nation, including the University of Cape Town, University of KwaZulu Natal, the University of Pretoria, Tshwane University of Technology, University of the Witwatersrand, Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the University of
Johannesburg.

Under the ethos of ‘paying it forward,’ the Motsepe Foundation encourages its bursary recipients to study with the aim of using their education to uplift their communities in their own way, either by learning skills that are desperately needed in the community, or by educating the youth by sharing their gained knowledge and experience.
