Motsepe Foundation Mourns the Passing of Rev Emmanuel Motolla

The Motsepe Foundation is deeply saddened by the news of the untimely passing of our respected and much loved Reverend Emmanuel Motolla of the Zion Christian Church. Reverend Motolla was Chief Aide to Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Bishop Barnabas Lekganyane but his contributions to the church extended into roles including General Secretary, spokesperson and editor of the magazine in the ZCC-Naledi.

He played a vital role in articulating and disseminating African-rooted messages of faith espoused by the church, which was particularly meaningful during apartheid when the church sought to build communities that upheld values of self-reliance, peace and prosperity. As an educator he brought his passion for education into the church and is remembered by the congregation, learners, teachers and others whom he worked with for his dedication to life-long learning, which guided his profound service and counsel to others during his lifetime.

The Motsepe Foundation has had the privilege and honour to with work with Reverend Motolla and the entire leadership of the Zion Christian Church over many years and we will always value the wisdom and guidance that he has always given us.

May God comfort and strengthen the Motolla family, His Grace Bishop Lekganyane and the entire Zion Christian Church during these painful and difficult times.
We will all miss him very much and may his soul rest in peace.
