Our role
To facilitate multi-stakeholder collaborations aimed at reducing youth unemployment and improving youth wellbeing by spotlighting existing employment and learning pathways; enhancing the capacity of young entrepreneurs to play an active role in driving sustainable development; and providing information and access to mental health resources.

- Youth in South Africa face stagnant employment prospects despite higher education levels than their parents.
- Limited career guidance and professional networks prevents the share of information concerning education and work opportunities, particularly due to monthly work-search costs and household income disparities.
- The industry’s risk aversion hinders the recruitment of entry-level youth without prior experience, favouring tertiary graduates.
- Financial insecurity from employment prospects, combined with limited networks for mentorship and support, prevents youth risk-taking and the establishment of youth-owned businesses.
- Long-term unemployment among youth leads to their labour market discouragement, which can contribute to mental health issues like depression.
